Rita is a strong conceptual copywriter and brand strategist. She possesses global and national brand experience. In addition to producing a monthly reading series called Bleux Stockings Society, Rita is a humorist and performative storyteller; flexing her creative muscle allows her to bring fresh and unique perspectives to life. She works well autonomously or within a group and would make a great addition to any team. I put periods at the end of my “hahas” and “lol’s” because my joy is definitive and never overstays its welcome.
Please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I joke that I was the first person affected by the Financial Crisis of 2008, I was working in the fashion and entertainment industries and all of a sudden, my work started drying up – which forced me to recalibrate. I decided to take an improv class and one day a castmate remarked that I would make a great copywriter. He was a creative recruiter and the rest was history!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Overall it has been a smooth career. Nothing to complain about there.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me success has always been about genuinely enjoying what you do, maintaining a steadfastness during hard times, and being proud of the life you are. I like who I am and how I move in the world. Integrity matters.
