Please share your career story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for art. I went to SCAD in Savannah and got my BFA in Graphic Design because I love being detailed oriented in my work. From there, I came to a startup in Atlanta called Medcast, which was purchased by WebMD in 2000.
I’ve since advanced my career through the years from graphic designer, to senior, to lead, then to Manager of Creative Services where I managed the Design Team and Brand Content Team.
I’ve developed a passion for procedure, process, and information architecture, as well as creating efficiencies where they are needed for the team to build upon.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Having been at a company for so long, I have seen the ups and downs and everything in between. But I feel that it makes me stronger and anticipate that great things always come along. It has also taught me that communication is hugely important. You need to talk to others to either learn what can be achieved, resolve any conflict, or just perk up someone having a rough day.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is loving the idea of coming into work every day and being excited to work on your tasks. It’s being able to help others achieve their goals and guide them into what they want to do and celebrate when celebrating is needed!
