PRSA Georgia: September 2016 Monthly Meeting: Straight Talk from the Top – 10 Lessons for All Communicators

September 14, 2016 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

$69

If you could get straight talk from your supervisor about PR, would you ask them things like:

•What were you really thinking when I pitched that latest communications initiative?

•What is keeping you up at night, and what’s my role as your PR counsel in preventing that?

•Is the bottom line profit the only thing our CEO really thinks about?

•Do you understand that PR plans are about changing behavior, not just churning out material?

If you ever wanted to hear candid answers to questions like these, here’s your chance. Join Alicia Philipp, president of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the second largest foundation in Georgia, for this vibrant and engaging session. AsAtlanta Magazine’s current Most Influential Woman, Alicia’s organization provides an average of $120 million in annual grants supporting thousands of nonprofits in our region, all made possible by passionate donors who use the Foundation as their philanthropic arm.

Joining Alicia, will be the Foundation’s marketing and communications lead Elyse Hammett, APR. Alicia and Elyse will share 10 key lessons Alicia has learned over 39 years as a CEO, including knowing the business ROI, taking on an annual business challenge and seeking out people smarter than you. Whether you work for a nonprofit on a shoestring budget or a multi-million dollar publicly traded corporation, Alicia’s 10 lessons driving this billion dollar organization are priceless for all communicators.
