PRSA Georgia: Coffee and Conversation – Staying Relevant with a Distracted Audience

July 30, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The statewide lockdown this spring presented challenges for every PR practitioner. With the news focused on a world-wide health pandemic, a public scared to go out, and donation dollars going to medical and human causes, Atlanta area museums and tours had to get creative to stay relevant and engaged with an audience who was not visiting for the foreseeable future, as well as media focused on heavier topics.

Hear from three PR pros on how they pivoted with only days’ notice, and the lessons they are taking into the fall tourism season. Learn from their insight into partnerships that made a difference, truths the lockdown exposed, managing senior executive expectations, and how marketing and PR can collaborate to generate new revenue, all without physical visitors.

Panelists Include:

  • Brandi Berry, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Fernbank Museum of Natural History
  • Jessica Fontana, Senior Director of Communications and Marketing Events, Georgia Aquarium
  • Akila McConnell, Founder, Unexpected Atlanta Tours
