MODA in partnership with Portfolio Center at Miami Ad School and Coca Cola Design is thrilled to present a special edition of Design Matters Live with Neville Brody and Debbie Millman on Friday, January 5 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Brody, acknowledged as a seminal designer specializing in digital design, typography and identity, will take the stage with Debbie Millman, host of Design Matters, the first and longest-running podcast on design and curator of MODA’s current exhibition,Text Me: How We Live in Language.
Millman will talk to Brody about his early work including now iconic album covers at Rocking Russian and Stiff Records, his 1980s work as art director at magazines such as The Face andArena, and his more recent portfolio which includes work for Samsung, Yamaha, LVMH, GAP, Uniqlo, Nike and NIKON.
Design Matters Live with Neville Brody will take on Friday, January 5 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in The Rich Auditorium located in the Woodruff Arts Center at 1280 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta 30309.
Neville Brody lecture tickets are $25 ($20 for MODA members, $15 for students).
About Neville Brody
Neville Brody is acknowledged as a seminal designer specializing in digital design, typography and identity. His insight and passion for pushing creative boundaries informs the work of Brody Associates, the collaborative creative agency he founded. Following his graduation from the London College of Printing (now London College of Communication) in the late 1970s, he came to prominence early in his career by creating now iconic album sleeve designs at Rocking Russianand Stiff Records. His work as art director at magazines such as The Face and Arena in the 1980s won him international fame as has his pioneering work for his experimental type magazine FUSE. Though his more recent portfolio includes iconic work for British brands and organizations in the arts and media including BBC, The Times, Somerset House, Royal College of Art, TATE and Channel 4 much of his work has been outside the UK. Brody’s “Blur” Typeface is held in the permanent design collection at MOMA (NYC).
His main focus is on exploring the edges of visual languages, and seeking an experimental approach to design and communication. His work over three decades ranges from album sleeves and identities for cultural institutions to corporate work for global businesses. Brody is a Professor and Dean of the School of Communication at London’s Royal College of Art. He is a Royal Designer for Industry, and past president of Design & Art Direction, which promotes creative excellence. He lectures globally on design and education.

Text Me: How We Live in Language is curated by designer, writer, educator, brand strategist and host of the podcast “Design Matters,” Debbie Millman.
