Every time we write something down, we use letters to record thoughts, express ideas, and tell stories. But have you ever thought about how the form and placement of letters of street signs, cornerstones, plaques, graffiti, or inscriptions can help us understand even more about a place?
Join MODA during the Atlanta Design Festival for a Downtown Type Walk in which designer Sue Youngblood will help you decode the history of downtown Atlanta’s development through its letterforms and typefaces. It’s a whole new way to look at the ATL.
$20 for Non-members. $15 for MODA Members
Meeting Place: MARTA Five Points Station.
The exact gathering spot will be emailed prior to the event.
Proceeds from the Typewalk support the AIGA Scholarship Fund which benefits minority and economically disadvantaged students who are studying art and design disciplines in colleges and universities in the Atlanta metro area.
