Ladies that UX Atlanta: Photos and Portfolios

April 8, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$5

If you are still using the same car selfie for your LinkedIn profile as you are using for Facebook, this event is for you! If you are trying to create or update your portfolio, but don’t know what UX hiring managers are looking for, you should definitely attend! One of our recent UX grads from General Assembly and professional photographer, Margaret Hiden, has generously offered to give us her time and take headshots for recent grads, women who are new to UX, or women who are looking to make a change in their career.

While photographs are being taken and we’re all in the building, it seems like a good time to talk about and share our portfolios! Let’s practice our design critique skills in giving each other recommendations for making our portfolios great. We’ll also have some design mentors and hiring managers on hand to pass on their knowledge about what they look for in a UX Portfolio.

The event will take place at the offices of Points of Light at 600 Means Street, just behind Amelie’s off Marietta Street. Please park in the lot marked for Points of Light and Hands on Atlanta on the right (if you are looking at the building). There will be signs at the front of the building directing you to the event space.

The Points of Light office is accessible by MARTA bus from the North Avenue station.

What to Wear for Headshots
On advice from our photographer — wear whatever you think best expresses yourself!

Due to limited space and time, and to make sure everyone has time to get their photos taken (and for our photographer to get feedback on her UX portfolio!) registration for this event is required in advance.
