Ladies that UX Atlanta: Climbing the UX Ladder

April 20, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$5

Do you have questions about progressing your career in UX?

Join us for a panel discussion with 4 UX professionals who’ve accelerated their careers as they dish out advice for moving up the UX ladder. They’ll discuss everything from how they moved up to what held them back, and how you can make the right moves to land a leadership position.

You’re encouraged to bring questions to this discussion!

Who will be speaking:

Jamie Young – Director of UX at Sagepath

Jamie has been working in the UX field for over 5 years, leading projects for clients like Verizon, AT&T, The Coca-Cola Company and Cracker Barrel. Currently he is the UX Lead at Sagepath, but started life as a lowly intern for a small agency called Engauge. In the years since, he’s worked both client side and at other agencies, always striving to simplify the complex (while combating varying degrees of resistance). If Jamie were an inanimate object, he would be a socket wrench.

Beth Godfrey – UX Architect at Moxie

Beth Godfrey is on a mission to make the world a little better through design. After escaping with a master’s degree in hand from Georgia Tech, she took up a position at Moxie (a marketing agency in Atlanta, GA) as UX Architect and resident cat lady. She works with clients to craft award-winning experiences for websites, apps, chatbots, and beyond – and advocating for user research at every step. You can find some of her recent work atwww.beth-godfrey.com

Mandy Cornwell – UX Manager at VMware AirWatch

As User Experience Manager, Mandy’s driven by customers’ and users’ problems to create the most effective design solutions to help them succeed. After earning a computer science degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, and spending the next 13 years expanding her knowledge and understanding of a continuously evolving field, Mandy’s proud to be on the front lines of end user computing at VMware AirWatch where she leads a team comprising of user experience, visual design and content strategy disciplines. Prior to VMware, Mandy has worked and led teams in both agency and corporate environments. If she’s not chasing her 4-year-old twin daughters around the house with her husband, you can usually find her thinking critically about how to make the world a better place for end users.

Christian Sabyan – UX Architect at Worldpay

Christian Sabyan is an Experience Designer with a strong attentiveness towards storytelling and a keen eye for intuitive interaction. He builds experiences that simplify complex problems, but his main goal is to provide the world with small moments of happiness. Christian studied Digital Design at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning, where he gained experience through internships across the United States and Europe. He has had roles in both agency and in-house environments, working in the fields of Finance, Insurance, Healthcare, Entertainment, Education, and News. Since relocating to Atlanta, he has had experience working with CNN, The Weather Channel, Macquarium, State Farm and Worldpay. Some past clients have included: Wells Fargo, Johnson & Johnson, The National World War I Museum, The Library of Congress, Warner Brothers, and Delta Airlines.
