IABC Atlanta: The Atlanta Police Foundation: A Communications Case Study

As a board member of the Atlanta Police Foundation, Rob Baskin will share the development and evolution of a seven-year communications and community outreach program he helped lead to support the Atlanta Police Foundation, an independent business organization whose goal is to make Atlanta the safest major city in the nation.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:
Rob Baskin manages the Atlanta office of Weber Shandwick, one of the nation’s leading communications and engagement firms.He directs a team of corporate, B2B, public affairs, crisis and issues management, consumer, and hospitality/travel/lifestyle marketing and public relations specialists.
Rob’s career is equally divided between client and agency-side public relations and public affairs work.
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, he had a 15-year tenure at The Coca-Cola Company where he was director of corporate communications, director of international media relations, director of U.S. public relations, and director of marketing communications.
His public relations work includes both client and agency-side management of more than 35 product or service introductions for Coca-Cola, UPS, Philips Electronics, Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, Ciba Vision, Hasbro, Old Dominion Freight Line, Verizon, Sealed Air and General Motors.
Rob is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a BA in political science and an MA in journalism. In addition to his service with the Atlanta Police Foundation, Rob is a board member of the Georgia Council on Economic Education, the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival.
