IABC ATL: Ethics: It’s time for a Discussion

March 16, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

$25

Whose head is not spinning right now? Geopolitical volatility, workforce shifts, skills gaps, technology explosion, data and privacy concerns, employee engagement at an alarming low…oh, and that fake news issue. Companies are revisiting their value statements, employee value propositions, codes of ethics and governance in the midst of this tumult. If your company or client is not, should they be?

The first sentence of the IABC Ethics Code preamble reminds us, “As a professional communicator, you have the potential to influence economies and affect lives. This power carries with it significant responsibilities.” We’ve invited the head of the IABC Ethics Committee, Connie Mayse, for a conversation about our professional code of ethics, its origins and evolution given the cultural, global and technological influences we are experiencing.

Keeping with our intimate and interactive roundtable format, we’ll explore the reason ethical and responsible communications are so important to our profession and issues we face today that prompted recent changes in our code. Our session will leave you with a meaty discussion about ethics in a time when it is critical for our organizations and clients.
