For many of us, there may be no more perplexing business issue than the challenge of healthcare insurance – evaluating the options, selecting the most beneficial and cost-efficient plan and then getting the most from it. If we find ourselves in the individual market (i.e., no coverage under a spouse or partner’s plan), or if we’re stepping into the Medicare maze, the challenges can only increase.
Our November meeting could be the Rx to your healthcare insurance woes! We’ve invited Ed Fogarty, a principal of Classic Benefits Management, to speak to us on a number of important issues regarding healthcare coverage. Ed will begin with a timely overview of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicare open enrollment process (after all, ‘tis the season). He’ll cover what “on and off exchange” means, various eligibility criteria and the overwhelming choices of products on the market. He’ll address financial issues such as tax penalties, and he’ll review available options and qualifying criteria for financial assistance. Finally, Ed will conclude with the impact the ACA has had on small business owners like ourselves.
Be sure to bring your questions, too! We promise a healthy exchange of information, so don’t miss this timely and important meeting. See you November 5.
