From the front door to the back, every square foot has a story. From tables designed through training programs to coffee that shares stories of the world, from mural inspirational quotes displayed on walls that were spoken at our gatherings to screens looping problems being solved by people throughout our community. If and when you walk into this place, it must inspire you to go back to where you call home and make it better. This place is an entrepreneurial training center where ideas are shaped, where stories are experienced, where mentoring transpires and where people find community. People come here to make a difference out there. Our goal is for this space to inspire more good into the world. When people engage Plywood Place, it will cause others to dream in unimaginable new ways, not out of shame but out of hope and responsibility. We saw the need for a space that made people believe that better is possible, so we created Plywood Place.

Our theme for June is PATTERN. It was chosen by our Chennai chapter and illustrated by Nishant Saldanha.
Our Chennai chapter’s selection of this theme was inspired by the art form kōlam; which features patterns of dots that are encircled or connected by straight and curved lines. These intricate, geometric designs are created on the thresholds and floors of houses, temples and businesses using rice flour. The practice is deeply rooted in South Indian culture to welcome guests into the home and bring good fortune and prosperity.
Join us for a morning unraveling the theme PATTERN with Emmy-nominated author, poet, and playwright Jon Goode.
Which patterns in your relationships, work, and habits are worth repeating? Which ones should be changed? What new pattern do you want to create?
