Art schools may not be the most common places to find software testers but art students and great testers actually have a lot in common. This talk covers tools learned in art classes and how they apply to interface testing. Expect to explore how much your designers have in common with testers and learn what people are really doing when they are testing your designs.
About Alianor Chapman
Alianor Chapman is the Director of Technical Content and Testing for MailChimp. She helps technical writers coordinate MailChimp’s extensive knowledge base, testers manage analysis of MailChimp’s products, and engineers build cool tools to help writers and testers.
After earning her BFA from Georgia State, Alianor decided to focus on another of her passions: interface design and implementation. She eventually landed at MailChimp, where she started out as a support agent and quickly moved up the ranks to form her own QA team. Along the way, she’s given talks about application testing and about inspiring women to get involved in the tech industry by assisting with Atlanta’s PyLadies group.
Alianor resides in Atlanta, GA with her daughter and her boyfriend. They share their stately home with a menagerie of cats who refuse to help with the mortgage.
