In this era of marketing transformation, where is content strategy headed? As marketers, we’ve all heard the catchphrase “content is king”. While the importance of content is widely understood, there are many different approaches to the how, when, where, why and what of creating content that resonates with customers. We’ll discuss trends and perspectives on the future of content strategy with representatives from a diverse assortment of brands.

Speakers:

Glen Caruso, Senior Named Account Manager, Capital Markets & Insurance (Moderator)

Glen is an established entrepreneur, educator, and marketing technology SaaS executive and expert. He’s worked at leading digital media and martech companies throughout his career and has helped launch and sell two technology startups. Currently, his role at Adobe focuses on selling the Adobe Experience Cloud stack to the largest companies in the capital markets and insurance category – TD Ameritrade, MetLife, Aflac, and Principal Financial.

Glen’s background includes positions with Oracle, UserIQ, Rocket Fuel, [x+1], Gannett Digital, BLiNQ Media/Facebook, Tremor Video, TACODA, Microsoft/MSN, AOL, Disney Internet Group, Yahoo!, weather.com, Turner Broadcasting, and JWT/NY. He’s also Past President of the American Marketing Association. On the side, Glen teaches a “Digital Disruption” marketing class at University of Georgia’s Grady School of Advertising. His focus is to help students understand the many opportunities available in this burgeoning field and where their skills and talents might best fit.

Glen is a frequent speaker and moderator for business organizations and universities on the topic of marketing innovation, digital disruption, martech, and adtech. He’s also a former standup comedian.

Robby Gulri, CMO, Proliant

Robby Gulri’s mission is to use technology, business and marketing skills for a better world. He has over 20 years of technology product marketing, product management, and sales experience and has brought 13 SaaS products and solutions to market in the areas of predictive analytics, machine learning software, information security, mobile device security, email encryption, business email and IM, and artificial intelligence platforms totaling in over $200M ARR since 2000. He is and has been in senior marketing and leadership roles at companies such as Proliant, ENGAGE Talent, Solvati, Illuminate360, Echoworx, BellSouth, Yahoo!, Portal Software, and Sirius Systems.

He also runs a non-profit called Community Consulting Teams of Atlanta where they provide over $1M of consulting expertise all pro-bono to 15 non-profits every year in the areas of marketing, strategy, IT, and board development. In April 2017, he was appointed to the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2018.

Robby has a BS in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics from Georgia Tech, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) with focus in Management of Information Systems & Marketing from the Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University.

Ray Killebrew, Head of CX/Experience Design Thinking and User Research, Primerica

Ray Killebrew is an accomplished CX executive with a successful record at Primerica, SunTrust, Equifax, IBM, and Omnicom held agencies, Ray is a customer and user experience design leader that applies Design Thinking, Human-Centric Design, and Research to every initiative. Design Thinking, Internet of Things (IoT) and innovation evangelist with a successful record of building meaningful relationships. He excels at building experiences, CX/UX operations, DesignOps and ResearchOps, Design Systems, user experience journeys, new businesses, startups, and innovative products.

Internationally recognized for a straightforward, pragmatic and down-to-earth approach while working with clients to achieve profound changes in their digital solutions and innovative products. Over his 20+ year career, he has worked with some of the most recognized and respected brands in the world – significantly improving their overall brand consumer and user experience. He applies strategic analytical thinking, strong interpersonal skills, diverse e-business experience, and creative problem-solving abilities, producing revenue-generating results.

Shajan Thomas, Sr. Manager, SEM, SEO and Online Video, American Cancer Society

Shajan is an Atlanta-based marketer who specializes in curating digital experiences that generate loyalty and drive results. His work with industry leaders and market disrupters led him to his current role running the Paid Search and SEO programs at the American Cancer Society, the largest non-governmental funder of cancer research. Prior to ACS, Shajan led the paid search program at National Vision, the fastest growing optical retailer in the eyecare industry.

Having obsessed over SEM and SEO trends for the better part of the last decade, he now evangelizes about growing small businesses through digital channels. Shajan enjoys building results-driven marketing solutions for a digital world while growing his prowess as an amateur chef and drinking a totally reasonable amount of craft beer.

Je-Anne Berry, Director of Marketing and Business Strategy, Public Broadcasting Atlanta

Je-Anne Berry is the Director of Marketing and Business Strategy at Public Broadcasting Atlanta. She oversees the development, implementation, and marketing of WABE and ATL PBA strategic initiatives, including podcasts and education outreach. In her role, she also serves as an Executive Producer for the podcasts, Bottom of the Map and Buried Truths, the latter of which won a 2018 Peabody Award. Before joining Public Broadcasting Atlanta, Je-Anne worked at WarnerMedia (Turner) for eight years, developing network strategies for TNT, TBS, and TCM, and developing and executing sponsorship campaigns for the networks’ advertising clients. She worked in marketing for the AFI Docs documentary film festival and has also worked in documentary production at then-CBS affiliate, WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina. She began her career at WJZ, the CBS affiliate in Baltimore, Maryland. She holds a B.S. in Public Policy from Duke University, an M.S. in Media Management from Syracuse University, and is an Emma Bowen Foundation alumna.

Visitor/Parking Instructions: Maggiano’s has a parking garage which is complimentary. It is located in the back of the restaurant. When you enter you will get a ticket and Maggiano’s concierge will provide a voucher to you. Please note when parking in the garage you MUST use the stairs and elevators on the south side (to your right if you are in the garage looking out towards Maggiano’s) in order to access the correct exit to enter the venue. Valet parking is also available for lunch at $2 per car.

Cancellation Policy: Due to pre-registration costs and guarantees, refunds or credits are not extended for this event. However, registrations are transferable. On the day of the event, the substitute attendee must present a copy of the registration receipt or e-mail verification to be admitted to the event.
